Isn't it funny how just when you're thinking nothing is happening, or you have a disappointment, exciting things come along? I was a bit disappointed that I didn't sell anything at the online fair I did. But I did get lots of new likers to my facebook page so that was great. I was just wondering what to do next, and 2 possible opportunities to get my goods into bigger places have arisen! Possibility of a shop stocking one of my lines and a company possibly wanting another of my items in bulk! It's all very early days so I can't really say anymore than that, and I'm waiting to see whether they work out, but it's lovely to have the interest. Fingers crossed it leads to something more. Meanwhile, Mothers Day orders to complete whilst still feeling poorly so must get on! Would love to hear your comments if you have any other ideas of places/people who may want
10am today and the Mum's The Word online fair opens over on facebook on The Supermums Craft Fair. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.576257045736341.140609.282895841739131& It's the first online fair I've been part of so really excited to see how it goes. Wonder if I'll sell anything? There are so many fantastic items on there, I just want to buy them all. That's the problem with craft fairs, I end up spending my profits on all the other gorgeous things there!
My chest infection has developed into pleurisy, so that's fun! Not! Thank goodness for my Mum coming over and helping with Theo, my very active 10-month-old! Luckily, I can still sew, as that doesn't take up too much energy, so I'm actually finding more time for that as housework is obviously out of the question! :-) So, who out there has a twitter account? I now have one, @mummyduckdesign (notice no s on the end!). Still trying to figure out how to make the most of it and get more followers, but slowly does it, hopefully it will build. Anyway, there's my ramblings for today, don't forget to check out the Mum's The Word fair, there really are some beautiful gift ideas on there. Bye for now! Well, I have a list of orders slowly growing as Mother's Day approaches. It's fantastic and lovely, but trust me to be hit with a nasty chest infection with 3 weeks to go til Mother's Day! Still managing to sew a little and get through the orders. Also got 3 craft fairs to look forward to, one online on the facebook page The Supermums Craft Fair, next Thursday and Friday, then the Bassingbourn village market on Saturday 9th March, then Thriplow Daffodil weekend 16th and 17th March, so got lots of stock to make too. I love being busy, but have had to announce that my order book will close to Mother's Day orders NEXT SUNDAY. great to be in that position, but really hope I don't have to let any customers down. As I write this, I really should be resting or sewing, oops! Best go do that!
Well, I'm stuck at home with a chest infection, so decided to catch up on a few technologies that I haven't accessed yet! (Does that sentence even make sense?)
Along with starting this blog, I also now have a twitter account! I've never used twitter before, so it's all a bit new and random, but if you're on twitter (and understand a bit more than me) feel free to offer me some tips, oh and follow me @mummyduckdesign (notice no 's' at the end, think my business name was too long for twitter!) Well, this is my first attempt at blogging! Never done this before, but thought the occasional person may be interested in my ramblings.
This will be a mixture of comments about crafting, business, being a mummy and generally just life! Feel free to comment (politely please!) and join in. A bit about me. I am a mummy to 2 gorgeous children, Poppy aged 4 and Theo who is nearly 10 months old. I am trained as a Primary school teacher, and have done that for many years, but always loved crafting and making gifts for people. I took the step to start selling my items last August and have been so pleased with how well it's done on facebook. Been building my page there and have really enjoyed it. I'll never be able to retire on the profits, but hey, it's a business and I'm earning a little bit of pocket money, whilst being able to be with my children. Anyway, there's the basics. Ought to get on with some orders now, so enjoy browsing my website, and feel free to say hi! |
